Pukenui Forest (Amalin Drive)

Note this one is a Saturday - meeting at the carpark at the end of Amalin Drive at 1pm. We’ll head into the bush from here. Fitness levels and footwear will determine which track we take, but it’ll be a there-and-back option, so don’t expect one of the 8 or 9km loops!

This is a free foray for anyone who likes fungi. We're out looking for mushrooms and having a go at working out what genus and species they are. It’s a fun, relaxed ramble to see what we can see.

Bring yourself, sensible clothes/shoes (think mud and rain and cold), snacks/water, and your mushroom gear if you’re that way inclined – eg hand lens, mirror for looking under caps, field guide.

We'll leave fairly promptly but we'll be moving slowly.
