Dunes Trail planting days 2025

Dunes Trail planting days, starting 9.30am, on:
—Sunday 1 June
—Sunday 15 June

Each day there will be 750 trees and plants to dig in. This year the planting area is easy digging, so it should be fairly quick.

All ages and experience welcome! Whether you've helped Dunes Trail plantings for years, or you've never done planting before, your help is appreciated!

Bring a spade if you have one, or, there will be some to borrow. Please wear covered shoes. The planting will be followed by refreshments.

Both planting days will be accessed from the end of Wairakaia road, from SH35 5km east of Opotiki. Or ride along the Dunes Trail to the 4.5km point of the trail.

Planting days are seldom cancelled, however in the case of a storm, a cancellation will be notified on @Motu Trails Cycleway facebook page.
