For Weymouth and Portland's marginalised communities
We warmly welcome participants from… the LGBTQIA+ community, Disabled and neurodivergent writers, those from refugee backgrounds, people experiencing housing insecurity, working class and economically marginalized individuals, and Black and minority ethnic poets and wannabe poets.
Empowering you to share how you experience your town through your words and voice.
Our workshops create a supportive space specifically designed for poets whose voices have been historically underrepresented in the literary landscape.
If you've felt your perspective and experiences haven't been sufficiently heard in traditional literary spaces, this creative community is for you. We believe these diverse voices are essential to creating a rich, authentic portrait of Weymouth and Portland through poetry.
There will be an opportunity to share your words at Spoken Word Nights and for you poetry displayed as part of a poetry trail through Weymouth and Portland, being held throughout August.
