About the event

George III Dipping Day
Join us for a whole host of family fun on 20th July! We'll be on #Weymouth Promenade between 11am - 2.30pm (by the King's statue) to celebrate DIPPING DAY!

🏊‍♀️ 11am: George III and the Weymouth Sea Swimmers open the event
👑 11.30am: The Great King's Crown sandcastle build - everyone is welcome to join in!
🏆 12pm: The Mayor of Weymouth will award the prizes for the 'Postcards To The King' competition
🫅📜 12,30pm King George III reads his poetry
🏖 Paddle for the King - join us in a mass paddle with King George II
PLUS 🎨👧Georgian Facepainting at 11.30 to 12.30 & 1.30 to 2.30 - come along to get your Georgian beauty spots!

We'll be sharing the stories of some of our collection of Georgian artefacts on the day, along with 'make & take' craft activities.
Free to attend - all are welcome!
