THE BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
A special community event is planned for Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 3:00 pm to commemorate the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi. The event, hosted by Trinity Episcopal Church, Wetumpka, will take place at the City of Wetumpka Farmer's Market on the east side of the Coosa River.
The service will recognize the significance of, and give thanks for, the gift of animals and nature in our lives.
The blessing of each animal by name means that God is mediating health, healing, and life for the benefit of the animal in its relationship with its human partners.
The Rev. Ally Perry, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, will lead the event and bless each animal and its human partner(s) by name. Each pet will receive a blessing certification and a photograph of their blessing reminiscent of the event. This event promises to be a fun event, especially for children and will provide an opportunity to connect with everyone in the community.
Please consider bringing canned or bagged pet food to be donated to the Humane Society of Elmore County Shelter.
