Small-animal emergencies can be unpredictable, but preparation can help us to keep calm during a crisis! Swift Referrals' ECC Tips and Tricks Series delivers bite-sized, knowledge-packed sessions to help you think faster and make smarter decisions when every second counts.
Designed for vets who want to refresh their ECC knowledge and sharpen their clinical reasoning, you’ll pick up practical pearls to boost your confidence in triage, stabilisation, and ongoing care, leaving you better equipped for your next critical case!
Head trauma is uncommon in small animal emergencies but if it occurs, it can be potentially life-threatening. This session will cover the neurological and systemic pathophysiology of head trauma, how to recognise severe head trauma requiring intervention, how to stabilise the head trauma patient, diagnostic imaging in first opinion practice, and when to refer.
