About Dan Bikel
Dan grew up nearby in the town of Wilton. After getting a classical guitar as a gift at age 6, he taught himself how to play, and then taught himself piano, beginning to write songs at age 7, and he hasn’t stopped since. In his high school years, Dan spent an entire summer writing and recording his music that resulted in his first self-produced album that he sold at his high school bookstore and elsewhere. At college, Dan sang choral music around the world with the Harvard Glee Club, and he produced another album, continuing to write, arrange, and record ever-more-sophisticated pieces, ranging in styles from folk, rock, pop, jazz and classical and fusions thereof.
Dan works as an AI research scientist building large language models and attacking problems that involve understanding and processing natural language. He has worked for BBN Technologies, IBM Research, LinkedIn, Google Research, and Meta AI. Dan lives in Westport with his wife and two children.
