WHY RUN TO SUPPORT OUR EMS? BECAUSE EMS IS FREE TO ALL WESTONITES, SUPPORTED ONLY BY DONATIONS, AND ONE DAY, YOU JUST MAY NEED THEM TO RUN TO YOU.
On October 26th, let’s all join the Kiwanis 14th Annual Reservoir Run and support the good work and exceptional care our Weston EMS provides us, free of charge, at our most vulnerable times.
Since the early 1960s, our All-Volunteer Weston EMS has supported our community. Children. Families. Seniors. Visitors. On all our roads. In all our schools. In all our houses, backyards, pools, parks, fields, and trails. Anywhere someone is in dire need of critical care, and transportation to our local hospital.
By taking part in the Kiwanis Reservoir Run Half-Marathon, 5K, or our family and children’s “Fun Run”, you and Kiwanis help support our EMS and ambulances. And always, at no cost to you or your family.
Now more than ever, they need our support, and we need your help in giving it to them. Our EMS averages nearly 600 ambulance calls a year, with half needing advanced paramedic care. They also do a lot more for our community, offering training programs such as the Babysitter Training Course and CPR classes, to name just two.
What's more, they are also on site with an ambulance and crew at all football games, fairs, and races held in Weston, and provide numerous prevention education and service programs for the community.
This is a great community and regional event that’s both fun to participate in and volunteer at. Kiwanis even gives you a chance to get out of town! As an adult or WHS participant in the Reservoir Run’s half-marathon or 5K, every participant will be entered into a separate half-marathon or 5K drawing for two round-trip JetBlue tickets to anywhere in the world JetBlue flies. Choose from over 30 countries and more than 100 cities to run in, or relax on the sand. Now, that’s a break that everyone needs.
But wait, there's more! Every 5K and half-marathon participant receives our newly-designed merch for 2025, so no matter what your time or your place, you’ll go home with memories of running through the beautiful and bucolic landscapes that Weston is known for.
