Tai chi is a low-impact, slow-motion, mind-body exercise that combines breath control and movements to stretch, lengthen, and strengthen the muscles.
There’s solid research that shows tai chi can benefit people with multiple chronic pain conditions. A research published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2010 found that specifically in fibromyalgia, a group of people who took regular tai chi classes reported less pain, fewer depression symptoms, and better sleep than the control group.
