Join the Carroll County Master Gardeners at our CORE demonstration garden for an open house! Explore our vegetable beds, native plant gardens, fruit trees, hugelkultur mound, rain garden, and more.
The open house is free to attend. We will also be selling small fresh cut flower bouquets and dried flower bundles for $5 each (cash only).
We recommend wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for walking on grass, mulched areas, and slopes. Apply insect repellent and sunscreen if desired. Our gardens are open air. Wear a hat if desired. Our garden has a western exposure.

The CORE Demonstration Garden is located behind the Carroll County Agricultural Center at 706 Agriculture Center Dr, Westminster, MD, United States, Maryland 21157.
Here are directions to follow once you arrive at the Ag center:
-Please do not go to the Extension Office building at the end of Smith Ave. Instead, use the Gist Rd entrance (Agricultural Center Drive/Donald Lippy Way) onto the Ag Center property, past the County Home Farm/Willow Pond on your right.
-Stay right and enter the large gates on your right (the 4-H Therapeutic Riding Horse Barn will be on your right, the large paved lower parking lot on your left). Signs will be posted on this fence/gate and along the way to the CORE garden.
-Follow the road past the horse barn, stay right, follow the road as it leads down the hill behind the Ag Center Shipley arena. Note, the road is gravel; drive slowly and carefully.
-You will pass a water pumping station on your right, continue to proceed down the road. The CORE Demonstration Garden will be on your right on the other side of the guard rail.
-Please park in the large lot at the end of the road, or along the sides of the road.
-Proceed down the hill on foot, through the grass, to the garden entrance gate. Master Gardeners will be stationed to greet you.
