Boost your confidence level in plein air painting in this exploratory workshop. Artist and master teacher Sheree Jones will guide you through simple steps to making a good plein air study, from choosing your subject to creating a solid composition.
From here, you will be better prepared to compete in the Grand Prix Plein Air Challenge on Saturday, August 9, should you wish. Suitable for beginners with some experience.
Sheree Jones will share tips and techniques for painting outdoors:
How to pack light - the essential equipment (the dos & don’ts)
Working with a limited palette
The importance of a thumbnail & value sketch (keeping it simple)
How to keep your sense of humour in the field.
Paint in your preferred medium (oils, water soluble oils or acrylics, watercolour) and open yourself up to new and exciting possibilities.
Note this workshop will be outdoors, so bring your hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, folding chair, bottled water, wear comfortable clothing, and carry lunch (not provided, so pack your own tasty treats!).
A supply list will be provided upon registration.
Cost: $75
