JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION AT THE CENTER FOR SPIRITUAL AWARENESS
Theme: Celebrating Freedom Through the Arts
The West Sacramento event on June 15 welcomes residents to come together and recognize the importance of this federal holiday through educating one and another, as well as celebrate as a community. It is a free family event that offers activities, music, and performances.
This family-friendly event will feature an afternoon filled with creativity, connection and community. There will be plenty of free art-based activities available for the community, including sessions for painting, beading, poetry, acting, yoga, calligraphy, film, and more, all facilitated by experienced professionals.
Whether you are an experienced singer or artist, a seasoned dancer, or just curious to learn and share, we welcome everyone to be part of this healing journey. For more information, visit the website csasacramento.org.

Officially celebrated on June 19th, Juneteenth is the oldest-known celebration marking the end of slavery in the United States first recognized by the state of Texas in 1865. On June 17, 2021, President Joseph R. Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, designating Juneteenth as a federal holiday.
