The study evaluated safety for motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians along Route 30 between Mount Olive Cohoke Road and Route 33, as well as traffic congestion and access management. This study is part of VDOT’s Strategically Targeted and Affordable Roadway Solutions (STARS) program.
Public comment was sought at the beginning of the Route 30 study in spring 2025 to learn more about traveler experiences. The purpose of this study is to develop concepts for future potential project funding applications. Draft recommendations are being presented for public comment before the study report is finalized. The study does not propose construction timelines for any future potential improvements.
