Monthly Meeting

ANNUAL PLANT SWAP

(Please arrive by 6:00 PM to allow sufficient time for all plants to be inspected to ensure that they are native to Florida, properly labeled, and free from any pests or diseases.)

Plants will be accepted in containers ranging in size from 4 inches to 3 gallons and should be healthy, well established, and sized appropriately for their container. Smaller plants (4-inch container minimum) will be accepted if they are unusual or rare and have several sets of adult leaves. Labels should include the plant's name, preferred light level, and preferred soil moisture.

RULES:
Each person can enter up to two plants which can be traded for tickets for a two-part drawing.
For the first part, tickets will be drawn randomly and each person gets to pick a plant as their ticket number is called. For the second part, those who entered two plants get to participate again in the same sort of drawing. Extra plants can be brought to donate to those who are new to our meetings or who don't have a plant.

PLANT GUIDELINES:
Plants will be accepted in containers ranging in size from 4 inches to 3 gallons and should be healthy, well established, and sized appropriately for their container. Smaller plants (4inch container minimum) will be accepted if they are unusual or rare and have several sets of adult leaves. Labels should include the plant's name, preferred light level, and preferred soil moisture. Plants must be native to our area.

And remember, there are always extra plants so if you are new, don't have a plant, or bring a friend without a plant you will likely still go home with one!

MEETING INFO:

Discover the wonders of native plants and their vital role in supporting local ecosystems, upon which life depends! We discuss various topics related to native plants, including their importance in providing native habitats, promoting biodiversity, and carving the pathway to sustainability.

Our goal is to preserve, conserve, and restore the native plants and native plant communities of Florida.

Whether you're a seasoned native expert, or just starting your journey, this meeting offers something for everyone.

Learn from experienced members of our community who will share valuable insights and tips for creating your own sustainable garden. Connect with fellow advocates, exchange ideas, ask questions, and gain inspiration.

Our popular native plant drawing follows the speaker program. This is a great way to learn from our knowledgeable members who share their expertise on specific native plants in hand, and it’s an opportunity to add hard-to-find plants to your own landscape.

Don't miss the chance to connect with like-minded individuals; this event is a fantastic opportunity for champions of nature to gather and share their love for native plants and gardening.

Also, we have snacks!
