State Rep. Chris Pielli, D-Chester, along with numerous Chester County House Democrats and other elected officials, will host a news conference on the current state of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, more commonly known as SEPTA.
WHEN: 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025
WHERE: West Chester Transit Center, 220 W. Market St., West Chester, PA
Elected officials slated to speak with Pielli are Rep. Paul Friel, Rep. Kristine Howard, Rep. Danielle Friel Otten, Rep. Christina Sappey, Rep. Melissa Shusterman. Rep. Dan Williams and Sen. Katie Muth.
House Democrats passed H.B. 1364, a transit funding plan that pledges more than $292 million to public transportation infrastructure in addition to approximately $500 million for roads and bridge repair in all 67 counties in Pennsylvania. All without raising taxes. The House passed the bill on June 17. It was referred to the Senate Transportation Committee on June 18 where it has sat with no vote or any other action since.
