Mental Health Matters 5k Run/1 Mile Walk

Join us for the third annual Mental Health Matters 5k Run/1 Mile Walk!

Proceeds from the race will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, whose mission is to "save lives and bring hope". We are hosting this event in memory of Rebecca's sister, Colleen, who died by suicide in 2012.

At our inaugural event in September of 2023, we raised $3,108. In 2024, we raised $5,390. We know this year we can raise even more with your help!

Race Info: Registration begins at 8:30am at the Ira Hicks Pavillion picnic tables (park by the playground and baseball fields). Here you can sign in or sign up if you haven’t online already, receive your race bib and pins, and get ready to start! Your hosts, Kirsten and Rebecca, will give a short welcome speech before guiding the groups to the starting line. We will also be providing free snacks and waters for participants! Parking is free in the nearby playground/baseball fields parking lot down the path from the Pavillion.

Our Why: As pediatric nurses and in our own personal lives, we are passionate about supporting and encouraging others to improve their mental health. Running has had an incredibly positive impact on us, so we wanted to create an annual event to raise money for a great cause, and promote health and fitness in a fun way that anyone can be a part of!
