A genre-bridging jazz fusion quartet

The Bad Plus are a democratic unit with a clear vision and a refusal to conform to convention. “We were always challenging the idea of leader-centric jazz,” says drummer Dave King. “For us, it’s always been more of a priority to have group thinking, not virtuoso soloing.”

For the past two decades they have played with spirit and adventure, made their own rules and done so with a bold sense of creativity - even releasing unexpected takes on tunes by artists like David Bowie, Rush and Nirvana. The Bad Plus has won critical acclaim and a legion of fans worldwide with their unique sound and flair for live performance.
