Paddle under the stars and witness one of nature’s most breathtaking shows—The Perseid Meteor Shower—at one of Arizona’s darkest, most awe-inspiring lakes.
We’re heading to Alamo Lake State Park, a hidden gem far from city lights and rated among the best night sky viewing locations in Arizona according to the Bortle Scale. With minimal light pollution, the stars will be vivid, the Milky Way will glow, and the meteors will streak across the sky in brilliant flashes.
We'll launch our paddleboards at dusk and drift into the night, surrounded by still water and a sky full of wonder. Whether you're lying back on your board, floating peacefully, or gliding across the lake, it’s the kind of quiet magic that makes time stand still.
What to bring:
Paddleboard or kayak
Headlamp or safety light
Water shoes or sandals
Blanket or towel (for stargazing comfort)
Snacks, warm drinks, or whatever helps you soak in the serenity
Why come?
Because nights like this don’t happen often—and when they do, they’re unforgettable.
Mark yourself as “Going” and invite a friend who needs to remember what a sky full of stars really looks like.
