Martha Flores, First Friday Art Walk

Martha Flores was born in El Salvador, and came to the USA when she was 15 years old. She has a Masters in Fine Arts, Painting, and Sculpture; and an MA is psychology. Martha was a mental health counselor for 30 years, and always did art in her spare time. After her divorce in 1982 she started writing poetry, and wrote her first book in Spanish, "Piel de Barro, Skin of Clay". When her brother, Miguel, died of the terrible disease AIDS, she wrote a second book for him, also in Spanish. Her third book is in English. “The Immensity of our Essence”. Since retiring she has dedicated herself to writing poetry, painting, teaching, and sculpting.
