Evening Concert I - 29th July 7 PM

Join us for the opening concert of the Pererinion Ysbrydol Festival Academy, featuring two monumental works from the piano quintet repertoire. This is a unique opportunity to hear PYFA’s exceptional faculty and artists perform together in the beautiful Music Room at Gregynog Hall.
The evening opens with Shostakovich’s intensely expressive Piano Quintet in G minor, a work of striking contrasts, from its haunting Prelude and Fugue to its playful Scherzo and poignant Finale. After the interval, we continue with Dvořák’s beloved Piano Quintet No. 2 in A major, full of vibrant folk rhythms, lyrical melodies, and irresistible energy.
