Ikebana Workshop

The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center is thrilled to announce a workshop on Ikebana, the junction of flower arranging and mindful meditation. It will be held on Saturday, May 17th from 10:30 AM – 12 PM in the Studio at the Gmeiner. The art of Ikebana is based on a harmony of simple linear construction and an appreciation of the subtle beauty of flowers and natural material. The meditation of ikebana is to see the universe in a single flower and to offer peace and harmony to the whole of humanity.

Join us for this introductory hands-on workshop exploring ikebana led by Quyhn Luong, as inspiration and guidance for learning the foundations of mindful breathing and walking meditation in the Plum Village tradition founded by Thich Nhat Hanh. No experience is necessary. All supplies will be provided.
