Join artist and photographer Bruce Connew in a tour of his exhibition ‘A Vocabulary’, which features photographs of memorials and gravestones of Aotearoa’s colonial wars.

A vocabulary of colonisation
The exhibition, A Vocabulary, is a narrative selection of photographs by artist Bruce Connew. He spent several years “roaming among” the memorials and gravestones of Aotearoa’s colonial wars, seeking out and photographing the texts on these testaments.

Join Bruce Connew for this artist’s talk where he will discuss the genesis of the exhibition and its relevance in 2025.

Bruce Connew is an artist and photographer based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
