The formidable powerhouse duo COMMUNICATE return to Wellington in November with their clubnight, XCOMMUNICATE, for one night only.
Known for their long sets that incorporate decades of sound, Cyril Orson and Heylady have been punishing dance floors across Aotearoa since they joined forces 3 years ago. Off the back of a monstrous summer, which saw them play 19 shows up and down the country, the pair have spent most of 2025 in the studio finessing their own brand of audio alchemy and preparing to release their label, also named XCOMMUNICATE.
Usually XCOMMUNICATE is a 6 hour journey though decades and sonic realms, however as Heylady is still recovering from a mighty dose of burnout they’ve roped in a couple of their good friends, who happen to be some of Wellington’s finest, to join them as they lay down four hours of four to the floor.
Halo is a mainstay on Wellington dancefloors and it was a no brainer asking her to be on this lineup. A DJ since 2000, she has played festivals across the country and never fails to rock her slot. Her set at Taniwha’s Den last summer was a big highlight and one of the best of the festival. Halo’s ability to drive forward thinking sound and her clever construction of sets are just two reasons you need to be on her floor.
DJ Coda is the godfather of techno in New Zealand. With a career that spans decades, he isn’t just a DJ but a dedicated promoter and one of the trustees of NZ’s longest running student radio station, Radio Active. Part of the COMMUNICATE family from the get go (and a longtime collaborator of Heylady’s), DJ Coda is a master of his craft and never fails to deliver. Armed with knowledge , taste and a hefty love of Detroit, DJ Coda is the man when it comes to rocking the dance floor.
First release tickets are on sale now, grab yours before they are gone and come and dance the evening away with four of the best. We recommend arrive early so you don’t miss out on any of the sets, they are all going to be killer.
