A Love From Outer Kingsland aspires to pay homage to Sean Johnston and the late, great Andrew Weatherall. Their club night and mix series, A Love From Outer Space showcased their passion for the slower sound, slinging “slow building atmospherics and a sense of graceful, determined sleaze”, ALFOS has garnered a cult following around the world.
In the heart of bustling Kingsland is an oasis of shady greenery tucked neatly into an unassuming corner of New North Road. Providing a variety of delicious refreshments and an atmosphere of relaxed contentment to accompany your journey into sound, this is the place to be on 19 October. Join us for a Sunday session that will allow you to cast off the hurriedness of city life and slink into a leisurely afternoon of sonic beatitude in one of Auckland’s best kept secrets. We’re here to wind you down, not up.
Dylan C is a master of multi-genre sound. He is just as comfortable playing techno as he is dreamy, sunshine house, hip hop or drum and bass. A household name in Aotearoa’s music industry, Dylan C has caught our attention a few times. It was his set before Heylady at Electric Avenue last summer that really cemented the need for us to have him play for us, we are so happy he agreed.
Mamadafunk is a long time friend and collaborator of us both. She is a powerhouse of sound and technological ability and has played nearly every major festival in NZ. Her low-slung, sultry and tempered harmonies are always nothing short of brilliantly put together. Her Sunday set at a private party in a forest last summer floored us, and we knew we had to have her along for the ride.
Cyril Orson has spent most of his life dedicated to incredible sound with a career that spans decades and has taken him around the world. You’re just as likely to catch him laying prime-time techno as you are to see him slink into the deep and dusty sounds of summer. Cyril is a world class act, and the anchor for this event.
