Pocket Shrine Workshop

Join us for a relaxed, drop-in style workshop where you’ll craft your own pocket shrine. These miniature altars are made inside small tins and can be dedicated to someone or something meaningful to you. It could be in memory of a loved one, in honour of a favourite artist, pet, place, or even a whimsical nod to the faeries. Anything goes.

Pocket shrines are designed to be carried with you or kept close. You might keep yours on your desk, in your bag, or tucked in your pocket to bring comfort, inspiration, or connection wherever you go.

We’ll have everything you need to bring your shrine to life, including collage materials, fabric scraps, buttons, beads, and more. If you’d like to make a shrine in memory of someone special, you are welcome to bring a small photo of them to include.

This event is part of Takurua Hauora: Winter Wellness, a Wellington event series promoting health and wellbeing inspired by Sir Mason Durie’s Whare Tapa Whā model.

Suitable for ages 12+.
