This fun, hands-on workshop is your perfect introduction to the art of live storytelling! In just 3 hours, you'll discover that everyone has amazing stories worth telling.

- Creative writing exercises to uncover hidden gems from your life
- Story crafting techniques used by professional storytellers
- Playful stage work (totally optionalâno pressure!)

About Your Instructor: Neil Thornton
Neil is "a master of the craft" (sez Theareview) with over 30 years of teaching experience and accolades to match. An award-winning comedian and professional storyteller, Neil has graced stages around the world and earned recognition as "Best Comedian" (2020) and "Best MC" (2022) at the Wellington Comedy Awards.
With an MFA in Creative Writing and published work in multiple journals, Neil brings both academic rigor and real-world performance experience to his teaching. He's the founder of NZ Comedy School and has been voted "Best Industry Helper" three years running for his dedication to developing new talent. From the Edinburgh Fringe to local Wellington venues, Neil has performed everywhere and knows exactly how to help you find your voice and share it with confidence.
