About the event

Discover Nonviolent Communication: Expressing Our Needs
Discover Nonviolent Communication: Expressing Our Needs
In this introduction to Nonviolent Communication (NVC), we will focus on recognising feelings and needs (our own and others) in order to communicate with more compassion and clarity.

Plus there is an amazing plant-based dinner & dessert included in your ticket!

NVC is a communication framework that offers connection, transparency and understanding. You will get to know some foundational tools of NVC, and practice on examples from real life. This session is interactive, and you will walk away with some understanding of NVC processes and materials to practice in your own time.

You will learn:

what is NVC (Nonviolent Communication)

what are needs and what role they play in communication and life

how feelings are linked with needs

the difference between needs and strategies (and why it matters)

how to listen beyond words and behaviours (your own and others)

Meet your facilitators
Anna Banaś and Helen Williams are passionate, down-to-earth facilitators who bring warmth, depth, and a wealth of experience to their work in Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

Anna is undertaking certification as an NVC trainer, a sociolinguist, and skilled group facilitator who has spent nearly 20 years supporting families, organisations, and communities to communicate with more clarity and compassion. Her background in conflict resolution and deep insight into language and belonging make her teaching both thoughtful and highly practical. Anna is also a parent of three, and brings a beautifully grounded, real-life approach to everything she shares.

Helen brings a rich blend of experience as a mindfulness teacher, mediator, coach, and yoga practitioner. With a background in law and over a decade of running workplace mindfulness programs, she combines clarity with heart. Helen’s training with Dr. Gabor Maté in Compassionate Inquiry adds another powerful layer to her compassionate, trauma-informed approach to communication.

Together, Anna and Helen create a safe, engaging, and supportive space where learning feels both empowering and nourishing. Whether you’re completely new to NVC or looking to deepen your practice, you’ll be in very good hands.
