Delirious: Damien Wilkins | Writers on Mondays

Winner of the prestigious Acorn Prize for Fiction at the 2025 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards, Damien Wilkin's profoundly moving new novel, Delirious, explores untimely loss, ageing, and surprise second chances.

As well as being one of our most acclaimed novelists and Director of the IIML, Wilkins is a not-to-be-missed speaker. He appears in conversation with writer Emily Perkins to discuss the art of fiction, a career that spans 14 books, and where singing and songwriting fit into it all.

Writers on Mondays is presented by the International Institute of Modern Letters and Te Papa Tongarewa. The 2025 series will run from 12.15—1.15 pm each Monday from 7 July to 29 September at Te Papa Tongarewa and Circa Theatre, with two special evening sessions at Meow. Admission is free and all are welcome. The series is supported by the Letteri family.
