SECTION 9 returns one last time for our final show!
You read that right - this is the last show Section 9 will ever run. This event will be a celebration of our 10 year anniversary, as well as a fond farewell 🖤
We're pulling out all the stops for our final show:
- Custom built "Banshee" soundsystem, courtesy of FURTHER SOUND
- Visual projection mapping by CUBEMAN
- Full crew lineup, including MARTIAN, who is flying back to NZ to reprise the duo known as CULTIVATE with his partner in crime ENVU, for a one-time reunion set!

10 years ago, Section 9 began as a secret 'warehouse rave' in the CBD. Soon after, our events moved to licensed venues and went on to become a hub for sound system oriented music in Wellington, hosting artists from across Aotearoa as well as numerous internationals including Goth Trad, Kahn and Neek, Commodo, and many more.
Our goal was to build a community around the core values of Sound System Culture. Every event was curated with the intent to unite The People through sound. This means providing a place where anyone can belong, where they feel safe, and genuinely connect with others. We believe music plays a pivotal role in this, so to us, this was never just a party. This was our way of giving back to the community.
After a decade, it is now time to pass the torch on to the next generation. From all of the crew here at Section 9, we'd like to thank each and every one of you who attended our events. Music has and always will be about people first, and we are eternally grateful for your support over the years. Long live Sound System Culture 🔊💖
