This workshop introduces sewing machine basics, including operation, accessories, seams, gathering, topstitching, and buttonholes. We will also cover cutting with a rotary cutter, quilting ruler and mat.
In this session you'll make a machine mat and a pin cushion. Designed for people who are at the beginning of their sewing journey.
$65, covering tuition, class notes, use of classroom tools, interfacing, and poly-fill.
BYO: Sewing machine (with power cord, foot pedal, and accessories) and a basic kit: bobbins, thread, scissors, tape measure, pins, etc.
You will require ½ metre of quilting cotton fabric. (Fabrics available for purchase in store)
Your Tutor: Cathie is an experienced fabric and yarn artist, quilter, bag maker, and designer. Mostly self-taught, she creates and sells work under Seventh Stone Design and leads at Village Creative Studio Cooperative.
