Something New for Summer – and You’re Invited!
Wednesday 13th August · 11am – 3pm · Irthlingborough Recreation Ground
This summer, the I-Grow team is launching something a little different—and we’d love for you to be part of it. On Wednesday 13th August, we’re heading to the Recreation Ground for a relaxed, friendly Summer Picnic filled with community spirit, gentle entertainment, and plenty of opportunities to sit, chat, and enjoy the fresh air.
The event runs from 11am to 3pm, and thanks to the kind support of Irthlingborough Town Council, it’s free to attend.
We’re delighted to welcome Peter Barratt’s traditional Punch & Judy show, which promises plenty of chuckles and childhood memories (with no need to queue for a deckchair!). In between performances, there’ll also be the wonderfully quirky World Famous Flea Circus, as well as storytelling sessions hosted by Irthlingborough Library.
For the young (and young at heart), there’ll be a few gentle games and activities to enjoy, including old favourites like Jenga and Connect Four, plus stalls and crafts hosted by local community groups.
This event is designed for all ages—so whether you come along with children, grandchildren, neighbours, or simply bring yourself and a picnic, you’ll be most welcome. We encourage you to bring a chair or blanket, wear your sunhat (or bring a brolly just in case), and spend a happy afternoon in good company.
As always, entry is free, and while donations are always appreciated, there is no obligation at all. Our aim is simply to bring the community together for a summer afternoon of gentle fun and friendship.
