English artist Kim Knowlton will lead you in this 3-day course as she introduces you to the delight of working with acrylics. In a relaxed and informative workshop Kim will take you through the basics of working with acrylic paint. We will concentrate on painting fruit & vegetables, with a series of exercises to help you develop and gain confidence with this medium, culminating with everyone creating a painting. Kim will guide you, encouraging creativity and confidence, giving individual attention and detailed feedback. Those of you who have come to France with Sarah recently will remember our visit to Kim’s beautiful studio.
Prerequisite: This workshop is perfect for artists at an intermediate level with drawing & any painting experience.
Acrylic paints are included in your class fee. Some other materials, indicated on the supply list, will be available for purchase at class.
Instructed by Kim Knowlton
Kim Knowlton is an English artist working within her studio in the South West of France, specializing in acrylic still life.
Inspired by color and texture in nature, she elevates their own particular character and beauty with subtle applications and layers of color. Her use of the dark backgrounds and depth of color draws you into her artworks and give a strong sense of capturing a moment within a space.
With a background of working in the film industry her use of color, light and shade has underpinned and informed her style. Kim currently exhibits and teaches primarily within France. Her artworks sell to an international clientele.
