Dear friends & family,
As many of you already know, I was a contributing author in Volume 2 of the Realize Foundation’s popular book series, “Scars to Stars,” which has been very well received and has now produced its fourth volume which I have written another chapter for. “Scars to Stars” is a truly amazing book series that goes a long way to addressing the issues around people who experience severe trials and trauma in their lives and the suicidal ideation that so often occurs. Each story has a slightly different spin on how each author has overcome their Scars and become a true Star.
In celebration of the release of Volume 4, my friends at the Booklovers’ Gourmet located at 72 East Main Street, Webster, MA, will be hosting a Book Launch Event on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1p-3p. Books will be available for purchase and I will be on hand to sign your copy for you. I will also read a selection or two from the book and be able to field any questions about my story that you may have.
The Venue
The Booklovers Gourmet (
http://www.bookloversgourmet.com) is a little slice of heaven and needs to be checked out. In it’s new location for five and half years now, it has much more space than it’s previous location and an expanded café where you can get some of the best local coffee and baked goods in the area.
There is also a wonderful collection of crafts, keepsakes and gifts, as well as an amazing selection of new and used books. And if you don’t see it on the shelf, Deb, the owner, can order it for you. I really can’t give Booklovers’ enough praise. It is a truly amazing family run business, and if you are lucky, you may even catch a sighting of Eddie and Lorraine, Deb’s amazing parents.
So, come on down to Webster on October 25, 2025, from 1p-3p at the Booklovers’ Gourmet and join me in making this an event not to be missed.
Bio
William “Bil” Gardiner is a Photographic Artist based in Worcester, MA. The owner of William Gardiner Photography since 2002, Bil works as a Child and Family Portrait Photographer as well as a Photographic Artist. An award-winning photographer, Bil has exhibited regionally and has worked in collaboration with professional photographers like Lou Jones, Stephen DiRado, Darton Drake and Patrick O'Connor.
Not able to go to college for Photography, Bil came home and eventually became a Police Officer with the Worcester Police Department (WPD). It became immediately clear, though, that he just didn’t fit in at the Worcester Police Academy and ultimately the WPD.
As a result, after graduating approximately 20 weeks later, officers on the street had already formed a negative opinion about him. Thus, began exactly ten years of being bullied, kept under duress and working in a toxic environment.
A few years ago, Bil decided to put pen to paper and start documenting his experiences in the police department, compiling story after story about the way he was treated and how it has affected him. This led to his becoming a contributing author in the second and fourth in a series of books called, "Scars to Stars.”
Bil continues to write and is looking forward to publishing his own book one day.
