Did you catch the 6:40 PM start time? We've decided to add a brief lesson prior to the start of the actual dance. You asked; we listened. Lesson from 6:40 to 7:00 pm; dance from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
The other important change to this month's Childgrove English Country Dance is the date of the event. It is being held on the fifth Friday so as not to conflict with Childgrove's Meet Me in St. Louis Contra Dance weekend. Don't come to the Monday Club on May 23; we will not be there. Come the following week.
This month's caller is Peter Wollenberg. He has many years of calling experience and even more dances in his repertoire. More on his program will follow in a later posting.
Music is provided by Ragged Robin (Martha Edwards and Bill Boyer), and it is exceptional.
Beginners are always welcomed. You do not need to bring a partner. Dress comfortably. All dances are taught before dancing, and the caller will continue to call the moves as long as is needed by the dancers on the dance floor.
Admission: $10; students $5. Payment can be made by cash, check, Venmo, and PayPal.
With regard to Childgrove's Meet Me in St. Louis Contra Dance weekend, there will be an English Country Dance session held on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 10 am to noon. This year's dance weekend will be held at the Masonic Lodge, 12 E. Lockwood Ave., Webster Groves, MO. Admission for this two-hour event is $15. The caller is Karen Jackson; Ragged Robin provides the music.
