Retirement Service & Celebration for Pastor Franz

Celebrate the remarkable ministry of our friend, colleauge, and Public Witness Team convener emeritus, Franz Schemmel.

On May 18th we will gather with Messiah Lutheran Church in Weatherford to celebrate the remarkable ministry of their pastor, Franz Schemmel.

Pastor Franz has served Messiah from the days it was just a mission-gathering. We not only celebrate Pastor Franz’s time at Messiah but the fact that, as of this year, he is retiring with an impressive 45 years of ordained ministry and service to the wider church!

During our regular 10:30am worship service, Bishop Erik Gronberg will preside over a special rite of thanksgiving at the conclusion of a pastoral call. A luncheon to honor Pastor Franz will follow.
