ANNOUNCING: Auditions for The Woman in Black
About the Play:
Arthur Kipps, a young solicitor, is sent to the desolate Eel Marsh House to settle an estate. However, his routine assignment quickly spirals into a harrowing encounter with a malevolent spirit, the elusive and vengeful Woman in Black. As he recounts his terrifying experiences with the help of an Actor, the audience is drawn deeper into a story that blurs the lines between reality and nightmare.
In this chilling adaptation of Susan Hill’s classic ghost story, THE WOMAN IN BLACK transports audiences to a time when the veil between the living and the dead seems thinnest. As the nights grow long and shadows stretch further, the Victorian tradition of telling ghost stories around the fire comes alive on stage.

Arthur Kipps Author/Narrator /“Actor” in script + Others: Male, age 50+
Edwardian Theater Producer/Portrays Kipps: Male, age 25-40
Jennett Humfrye: Female, age indeterminate
Race is not relevant to any role. All races & ethnicities are encouraged to audition.
Audition Dates:
Monday - August 4, 2025 @ 7pm
Tuesday - August 5, 2025 @ 7pm
In the Green Room of Theatre Off The Square in Weatherford, TX.
Auditions will consist of a one minute prepared monologue in a British accent.
REHEARSALS:
The Woman in Black rehearsals will take place Monday - Thursday, 6:30pm to 9pm, from September 8- October 16, 2025 at Theatre Off The Square in Weatherford, TX.
PERFORMANCES
Performances will be at Theatre Off The Square from October 17-November 2, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00.
