🦧 International Orangutan Day is celebrated on August 19th! 🦧
Join us as we celebrate these incredible, intelligent red-haired great apes at our International Orangutan Day Event! This special, educational tour is your opportunity to visit our orangutan areas and meet many of the amazing orangutan residents who call the Center for Great Apes home.
Throughout the tour, you'll hear from our dedicated orangutan caregivers as they share stories, fun facts, and insight into the personalities and lives of these remarkable individuals. We’ll kick things off with an “Orangutan Talk” hosted by our Ape Care Supervisor of Orangutans, and you'll wrap up your visit with time to browse and shop for one-of-a-kind, limited orangutan art and CGA merchandise.
🎟️ Raffle tickets will be available for purchase for a chance to win: an overnight stay in our CGA cabin, an orangutan painting experience, and a unique orangutan art piece.
Two tour slots are available on Tuesday, August 19th:
🕙 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
🕚 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Both times are limited to the first 20 people to register. $50 per person. All participants must be 15 or older, and able to walk and stand for approximately one mile. If you are unable to do so, please contact us prior to registering to see if accommodations can be made.
Only orangutans will be viewed on this tour.
