Tickets on Sale for Rumors!
Tickets are now on sale for The Watertown Players’ upcoming production of the comedy, Rumors by Neil Simon. The show is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French. Inc. Rumors contains adult language and gunshot sound effects—parental guidance is advised.
Advance tickets can be purchased for $15 at Piggly Wiggly, 1330 Memorial Dr., Watertown, or by calling the box office at 920-306-4364. Tickets will be available at the door for $20 until the house is sold out. The show will be performed at The Watertown Players Theater, 210 S Water St (in the Market), Watertown, on September 19, 20, 26, and 27 at 7:00 pm and September 28 at 2:00 pm. Rumor has it that there will be a surprise for the audience as they enter the theater!
The talented cast of the show includes Mike Kent as Ken Gorman; Ashley Woodard as Chris Gorman; Jeff Boyce as Lenny Ganz; Terra Jones as Claire Ganz; Bill Edington as Ernie Cusack; Diane Schultz as Cookie Cusack; Jim Steffl as Glenn Cooper; Lisa Steffl as Cassie Cooper; Amber Dawn Ledbetter as Officer Welch/Officer Pudney; and Kara Jorgensen as Officer Welch/Officer Pudney. Jennie Ortega is the Director, Juanita Edington is the Producer, Elizabeth Boxell is the Stage Manager, and Blaine Landowski is Technical Director.
This classic comedy by the renowned playwright, Neil Simon, revolves around a dinner party thrown for the 10th anniversary of Charley and Myra Brock at their home. Four couples show up to the party to find the guests of honor are absent, no food has been prepared as the cook is visiting her mother in Japan, and a mystery of what happened to the homeowners hangs in the air. Rumors begin to fly between the couples as accusations of extramarital affairs and the camouflaging of incidents within the Brock home are explained. A car accident prompts the arrival of two police officers and loose lips reveal that something is amiss at the party. The unsuspecting cops are tricked into believing that one of the guests is, in fact, Charley Brock, and the audience finally hears what really happened before the party started!
