About the event

ASC DMR (Designated Marksman - Scoped Carbine) Match
ASC DMR (Designated Marksman - Scoped Carbine) Match

This match will consist of 9-10 stages, and targets will be from 5 yards to 600 yards away. Multiple bays will be utilized throughout the course of the day and light physical stress will be induced.

Shooters shall have verified DOPE out to 600 yards.

Unconventional distances will be used (e.g. 316, 441 yards). Familiarity with max point blank range and speed drop will be advantageous.

The same complete rifle must be used throughout the entire event. Any attachment physically configured on the rifle must remain attached for the entirety (e.g. bipod, sling). If a catastrophic, irreparable failure occurs, another rifle may be substituted.

Muzzle devices are allowed. Minimum of 2 magazines, no further magazine restrictions. Any cartridge .30 caliber or below allowed (commonly .223, .308, 6mm) though may not exceed a muzzle velocity of 3,200 fps. Chronographs may be used and will result in a match DQ if speeds at the muzzle exceed 3,200 fps.

Shooters may carry auxiliary equipment to use as they see appropriate, but all of this equipment must be carried by the shooter and remain within arm’s reach throughout the TIMED SEGMENT of every stage; this includes all ammunition for the entire match. Backpacks are commonly used. For example: the shooter may choose to use a rangefinder on a stage, and begin that stage with it around their neck and all other items stowed in their backpack. Useful but absolutely not mandatory equipment include: backpack, bipod, sling, kneepads, tripod, shooting bag, rangefinder, kestrel, ballistics app on phone, pencil/paper, arm data board, additional ammo.

Carts, rifle bags or strollers will be used for transportation of rifles and equipment between stages. Use of these items is not allowed during stage courses of fire.

Scoring will be Time Plus

There will be a maximum par time and potential maximum round count per stage.

At minimum, an optic magnification of 4x is required. Any optic type (a red dot with 4x or greater magnifier, variable zoom scope, prism, etc.) is approved as long as it achieves 4x magnification or greater. No limitation on maximum magnification. A secondary aiming solution is approved and optional. (If your optic does not meet these requirements and you have good reason an exception should be made for you, or you have additional questions, contact the match director)

Minimum round count: 73 plus bonuses (Recommended to bring 200+). No limit on the amount of rounds that may be carried, however the shooter must carry all ammo (just like equipment) throughout the timed portions of the match.

*****Divisions*****

Gas Gun General Purpose Division
This division is intended to encompass practical rifles with general purpose optics that are not purpose-built for a competitive edge in mid-to-long range application. Failing to meet the constraints of the division will result in the competitor being moved to the “Open” division.
-Barrels must be less than 16.5 inches, as measured from the face of the closed bolt to the face of the muzzle. Suppressors, flash hiders, and brakes DO NOT count toward the overall barrel length.
-Available maximum magnification of 10x.

Gas Gun Open Division
This division is intended to provide a competitive atmosphere for rifle systems that are purpose-built for mid- to long-range competitive events.

Bolt Gun Open Division
This division is intended to provide a competitive atmosphere for rifle systems that are purpose-built for mid- to long-range competitive events.
