Nalbinding Workshop

Discover a prehistoric form of knitting, and learn nalbinding stitches used by the Vikings to create sturdy, warm clothes from mittens to socks! Using period-appropriate materials and tools, you’ll learn how to get started with nalbinding, discover the Coppergate and Coptic nalbinding stitches, and go home with a wooden needle and enough wool to finish your fledgling project!

📜Discover the history of the technique
🏰 Learn stitches based on archaeological finds; basic loop, Coptic stitch, and York (Coppergate, based on the famous Viking-age sock found in York).
🪡 Start your nalbinding journey, and take home your own needle and project to continue
