Welcome to "Challenges of that Tricky First Page – a Community Space for Writers"!

📚 Join us at Waterlooville Community Centre on Tuesday, 21st October, at 6:30 pm for a gathering designed for creativity and inspiration for writers of all levels.

This month's Moon Project workshop will focus on the topic “Challenges of that Tricky First Page.” I warmly invite you to participate!

Whether you are deliberating over the number of lines in your first paragraph or whether to create a sense of urgency with action or captivate the reader with poetic prose, bring your ideas and a notepad and pen and let's get together and set the scene.

This event is intended to be interactive and collaborative, rather than a traditional class or writing session.

As a participant, we encouraged you to come prepared with your favourite passage from a book about writing or a helpful website that you’ve discovered. It could be from Stephen King's "On Writing" or a random webpage by your favourite author. Share your enthusiasm with the group! This might include a favourite sentence, a thought-provoking paragraph, a compelling page, an inspiring chapter, or an entire book that reflects our theme.

You will have the opportunity to engage in a group discussion, sharing your chosen text with everyone and explaining its significance and how it relates to our conversation. This fosters a rich and supportive atmosphere that enables all attendees to connect over shared ideas and perspectives.

Whether you're a seasoned writer looking to enhance your craft or a beginner eager to learn, this event is perfect for you. Connect with fellow writers, share ideas, and gain valuable insights from each other.

Additional tickets will be available at the door, so please feel free to turn up. (Organiser doesn’t yet have a card machine)
