The Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging (NEI3A) is hosting a Healthy Steps for Older Adults (HSOA) Instructor Training Workshop on Monday & Tuesday, February 23–24, 2026, in Waterloo!
This evidence-based training prepares participants to lead fall-prevention classes that help older adults stay safe, active, and independent. With 1 in 4 adults age 65+ experiencing a fall each year, this program provides practical tools that truly make a difference.
🧠 Training Topics Include:
✔ Fall risk screening
✔ Home safety & proper footwear
✔ Nutrition for bone health
✔ Simple strength & balance exercises
✔ Strategies to reduce fear of falling
🕘 Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. both days
