Smudging is an Indigenous Ceremony with the intention to purify and cleanse. There are many Teachings and traditions and Cathy Starfire Woman will present those she follows.
The smudge fan represents the air element, and is used to waft sacred smoke to move energy, prayer and ceremony. It is also used in healing. Many Indigenous people use this type of fan as part of their regalia, to dance with.
We begin with a welcome and opening of Sacred Space, and pipe ceremony. A blessing will follow and all participants, our space, materials, and tools will be smudged. A sound healing guided meditation follows to facilitate your connection to the Spirit of the Deer, Birds, Tree People & crystals who give so much to aid us on our Earthwalk.
This workshop is only offered once or twice a year, to allow for cruelty free, naturally moulted feathers, and feathers from birds sustainably hunted by indigenous people, to feed their families.
Cathy Starfire Woman will guide you, step by step, to create a beautiful medicine tool as unique as you. All materials are provided, however you are welcome to bring your own feathers, antler, wood, crystals, shells, beads, leather, ribbons and anything else of meaning to you.
Herbal iced tea, water and a healthy snacks is provided. Please bring a bag lunch, no microwave. This workshop has a limit of 6 attendants to give adequate attention, and takes place outdoors, weather permitting.
