Ever since leaving Vermont to pursue a life as an artist, I dreamed of coming back to set up a place for artists to gather and practice their craft in the Northeast Kingdom, an area close to my home and close to my heart. When I started tattooing in 2014 I realized that dream would start with a studio. A little over a decade later, thanks to the help of friends and family, that dream is on the verge of becoming a reality!
Join us at the opening extravaganza of Middle Son Tattoo, the debut event of Rake Factory Arts. We will begin with a ribbon cutting, tattooists will be slinging flash throughout the day, and other local artists will have prints for sale at the art market (Cash Only!). There will be music, food, drink and performance. And don't forget to bring your walking shoes, we will have a map available for you and your friends to take self guided tours around the property!
We hope this opening can be more then the debut of a new tattoo shop, but rather that it will be the first public step towards transforming our secluded little section of fields and woods into a place that offers creative events and opportunities to the Northeast Kingdom and beyond.
You'll be sure to leave with a tote bag full of art, more than a few new friends, and that warm feeling of a day well spent.
Info: Grab a map and set off on the recently cut trails around the property. Experience the magic of the rake factory ruins, see the wetlands up close or go deeper into the forest. If you are feeling properly adventurous, trek out along the access road to the 500+ acres of the Matsinger forest and immerse yourself in a nature preserve that adjoins the Rake Factory property. Make sure to take some bugspray and check yourself for ticks after!

Info: There will be a couple amazing artists offering flash at the event! The artists will be announced later through email. Everyone who has bought a ticket to the event will receive an email with information on booking a tattoo, and the spots will go to the first folks to respond.
