Sometimes we want a fancier breakfast meal and although we all love the Pillsbury Dough Boy… we don’t always love the ingredients that come with him!

Join Jaxon and Aurora as we teach you how to make 2 easy recipes that could become go-to’s for your family when you want to do something a little extra for breakfast!

Students will learn how to measure, mix, and cut dough for pigs in a blanket to bake in class. Then, as our piggies bake, students will participate in an activity/discussion on the science of baking. To finish, we will use pre-baked sourdough bread to pull apart so we can measure and mix ingredients to prepare Caramel French Toast that will be taken home to be baked the next morning for a delicious breakfast :D

Where: Menard Center Commercial Kitchen in Wasilla

When: There are 2 sessions! Sunday November 9, 11am-1:15pm OR Wednesday November 12, 12pm-2:15pm

Suggested Age: Recommended for age 7 and up (we will be rolling dough), if younger please have an older helper!

Cost: $115 (or $155 if you would like to take home a new OXO kitchen scale)– For homeschool students, we are a direct bill vendor for Matsu Central, Twindly Bridge, IDEA, Raven, Cyberlynx, and FOCUS!

This class involves Science, Math, Art, and Home Ec / Life Skills

What will I learn?!

 Importance of following a recipe and measuring ingredients properly
 How to work with dough and measure out pieces consistently
 The science behind what happens to dough/bread as it bakes!

What will I take home?!

 Take home about 15 piggies and a 9 in. pan of French Toast to bake
 Take home detailed instructions on how to make the recipes again!
 Take home a new kitchen scale for more accurate baking for extra $40
