Guest Speaker: Alicia Y. Christy M.D. Colonel (Retired)
Topic: Dr. Christy will share her involvement with Uniting Us, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting healing through the arts for veterans and their families. She will highlight their powerful initiative, The Faces of the Fallen, which honors service members who made the ultimate sacrifice by capturing their stories and likenesses through artistic expression. This compelling conversation will offer a unique perspective on remembrance, resilience, and the unifying power of art.
Dr. Alicia Christy is a physician, author, artist, and Army Veteran. She retired as Deputy Director of Reproductive Health, Veteran Health Affairs in 2023. She holds the rank of professor at the Uniformed Services University, and adjunct professor at Howard University School of Medicine. While on active-duty Colonel Christy was the first female chair of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She is currently a Red Cross volunteer physician at Walter Reed. After her retirement Dr. Christy became involved in advocacy work with multiple medical societies. Dr. Christy is the recipient of a Humanism in Medicine Award for her work with women veterans and homeless women.
Dr. Christy is a member of the veteran artist group, Uniting US, and uses her artwork to honor veterans. Dr. Christy coordinates the Faces of the Fallen initiative, and her work has been featured at the Library of Congress, Dulles airport, Fordham University, the British Embassy, Montgomery County Community College, The Harford Artist Gallery, V.A. Central Office, Walter Reed, and Virginia Tech. In 2025, Dr. Christy received a Women in the Arts award, and two U.S. Senate Citations for artistic talent signed by Senator Christopher VanHollen.
The proceeds from Dr. Christy’s art sales benefit a military artist non-profit, Uniting US.

Columbia Square Parking Garage is located at 520 12th Street NW, Washington, DC 20004. Once parked you will take the elevator to the Concourse “C” Level, continue straight out of the elevator towards the water fountain, and the Club will be on your right. Please note: we do not validate parking.
If traveling by Metro the Metro Center stop is right outside the Club. Exit the station through the 12th and F street exit. Once on street level, walk straight ahead to reach the entrance of the Columbia Square Building on the left (this entrance to the building is not wheelchair accessible, the entrance on 13th Street is). You will take the elevator or stairs down to the Concourse “C” Level.
