The ICLS Wednesday English Conversation Club offers adult English learners a relaxed, low-pressure space to build speaking confidence through real conversation. Hosted weekly at the International Center for Language Studies (ICLS) in downtown Washington, D.C., this in-person conversation club brings together students from different programs and proficiency levels to practice English in a supportive community setting.
Each session centers around an engaging topic—such as culture, books, traditions, or everyday life—that encourages participants to share ideas, listen actively, and expand vocabulary at their own pace. There is no pressure to be perfect. The goal is to speak, participate, and grow more comfortable using English in real-world situations.
This conversation club is designed to complement both online English group classes and in-person English programs at ICLS, giving learners additional opportunities to practice speaking, connect with classmates, and feel more confident using English at work, school, and in daily life.
When: Wednesdays, 1:45–3:15 p.m.
Where: International Center for Language Studies (ICLS), Downtown Washington, D.C.
Who: Adult English learners of Intermediate and Advanced levels.
Format: In-person, guided conversation with an ICLS instructor
