New Member Call

We invite artists to join us for an In-person Member Call at Foundry Gallery in Washington, DC. This special event offers a unique opportunity for potential members to experience the gallery environment firsthand while applying for consideration for membership.

During your visit, you will have the chance to explore the gallery space, view the current new member exhibitions, and engage in conversations with current gallery members. This is an open, informal opportunity to ask questions, learn more about our members and the gallery, and gain insight into what it means to be part of our artistic community.

Artists interested in membership are encouraged to bring a resume and a portfolio of work for consideration of a membership. This application experience provides a more personal application experience. During the event, the gallery will interview and review materials provided from participating artists to extend an offer for a second review where gallery members will vote on acceptance of artist.

Whether you are new to the gallery or already familiar with us, this event provides an up-front look at how the gallery operates and what membership offers. We welcome artists working in a variety of mediums and styles who are interested in becoming active participants in a collaborative, supportive gallery environment.

This Member Call is designed to be approachable, informative, and engaging—an opportunity to connect, share your work, and take the next step toward membership in our DC arts community.

ARTIST APPLYING FOR MEMBERSHIP (PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION)

This opportunity is for artists in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area to apply for an interview to join the gallery. Members from the gallery will be present to review artwork and extend an opportunity to bring in work for consideration of membership. Please do not bring actual work, but provide a digital portfolio of intended work you would like to submit. Below is a list of materials to bring for consideration.
