Lights On Afterschool Fest 2025: Keeping the Lights On

Come celebrate DC's Out-of-School Time (OST) programs and bring your kids for an afternoon of fun activities at Lights On Afterschool Fest 2025: Keeping the Lights On. This special event is part of the national Lights On Afterschool campaign, launched in 2000 by the Afterschool Alliance, to shed a light on the impact of afterschool and summer learning programs in keeping youth safe, engaged, and inspired.

Lights On Afterschool Fest will be a hands-on fair with themed activity stations led by OST providers from across DC for students in grades 1-5 and their families. We'll also be welcoming policymakers and stakeholders to see the power of OST programs in action and hear from youth, parents, OST staff, and advocates.
