Grieve Out Loud: A National Grief Awareness Day Experience is a powerful, trauma-informed community event designed for young adults, parents, and families impacted by grief, loss, and gun violence. This experience will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 2–5 PM at Busboys & Poets – Brookland, Washington, D.C.
Together, we’ll create a safe space where grief is not hidden, but honored—through storytelling, connection, and healing. The afternoon will feature:
Two transformative panel discussions – one centering youth voices and one focused on parents navigating life after loss.
Spoken word and poetry that speak to the heart of grief, resilience, and community.
Opportunities to connect with others who get it and share resources for continued support.
In recognition of National Grief Awareness Day, this event will also serve as the prerequisite for entry into the Annual Healing Boat Ride on September 10, 2025. Attendees will be entered into a raffle for a spot on the boat ride, offering another moment of restoration, reflection, and community care.
Come as you are. Leave reminded you’re not alone.
